Pavel Heimlich has released an
version of the
Korona live DVD ver 4.3.98 which boots directly into KDE 4.4 RC3.
Due to some not-yet-analyzed changes in gdm, the Korona live-DVD
autologins to GNOME. Click 'System' - 'Logout jack' - 'Logout' and the
KDE4 session will come up after a while.

Fri Jan 15 2010 OpenSolaris SXCE final release Build 130, is available now until the end of January 2010. This is the final release of SXCE that Sun will make available. After the end of January, no releases of SXCE (aka: Solaris Express Community Edition) will be available. Please grab a copy of the last release of SXCE (build 130) now. Even if you don't think you'll ever use the SPARC release, grab a copy now! SXCE will be missed. It's had one hell of a ride and has been the mainstay of the OpenSolaris project for many, many users since June of 2005. But, the price we pay for progress is disruption, and in the OS space, you innovate or die. For the SXCE die-hards out there - time to move on to OpenSolaris!.

The suffix 'a' on the release number, indicates that this is a "re-spun" release of version 128 to fix known bugs.
This is also the first release of OpenSolaris to include the new
ZFS Deduplication
(data de-duplication) functionality.
